This page was created for the purposes of archiving publicly filed documents related to the July 14, 2026 Ballot Challenge, such as Orders, Appeals and Responses for James Craig v. Gay Perry-Adelmann. This is regarding Shay’s campaign for JCPS School Board for the November 3, 2026 election. Errors are possible. For official court records, please contact the courts.

In reverse chronological order:

Nov. 3, 2026 – Election Day – Shay’s name will likely be on the ballot due to the late decision from Judge Melissa Logan Bellows, which came in nearly a month after the ballots were certified. Whether any votes that are cast for her will be tabulated is the question that hangs in the balance.

Judge Bellow’s Opinion and Order issued

The In Between

In between July 14 and Sept. 18, there was a lot of back and forth. A motion. A motion hour. A ruling. An unanswered objection. A reversal from the bench. A response. More motions. Another motion hour. A broken promise. A missed deadline. A late ruling. An unanswered appeal to the chief judge. A lot has taken place from the day the challenge was filed to when the judge quietly issued her late opinion. Somehow the media found out before the defendant did. In fact, she has never received official notice from the court.

We will do our best to continue uploading the in between files in due time. Subscribe to Shay’s Substack for the latest updates. If you have any questions, please contact her at sv.nomad.421 @ proton.me. Thanks!
